No GPL 3 for Linux Kernel

Even before the public release of GPL version 3, Linus Torvalds in a kernel mailing list says that GPLv3 will not be used for the Linux Kernel.

Torvalds was never fan of GPL 2 according to the article, but the others in Linux community such as Debian consider the GPL 3 to be more positive.

Does this give any hint of difference between Linus and Free Software Foundation?
